They should all be fired. Starting with the chief. And working down through the ranks until things start getting solved.

Nation-wide, yes, they should all be fired. You seem weirdly anti-cop but also mad that I'm anti-cop. I don't know why you're downvoting me when we seem to agree that cops don't serve the purpose we pay them for.

No, the ones not solving crimes should be fired. The ones shooting innocent people should be fired or worse. But if idiots are disobeying the instructions and endangering the cops' lives, then cops should be able to use force. But if they're not solving crimes in the first place, then they don't even need to be around at all. We can just put bounties on the bodies of thieves like it's the year 1125. Either way works. But what we have now is complete garbage. We're paying for services not received and have the same problems as if we wouldn't even be paying.

Mostly agreed. Your third sentence seems to assume that cops always deliver reasonable instructions, and that their lives are more important than other lives, and I don't agree with either of those ideas.

If you tell someone their job is to arrest this violent & possibly-armed wacko person, then they deserve the right to defend themselves, as fleeing isn't an option they have. If a cop says "don't make any sudden movements" and wacko person starts making sudden movements, well, their fault. Cop shouldn't have to let them start shooting before defending themselves. They can always choose to do what the cop says if they're worried about their safety.

But this is IF cops are solving crimes at all. If they're not, then fire their dumb asses and just let's officialize vigilantism. Because this halfway-in-between shit isn't good for anyone. Do it or don't do it.
