It’s not wrong, I think it just doesn’t count numerals as words (2). Which means that it’s “a,i,o,t,y,” which is indeed in alphabetical order.

Edit: as someone below me so helpfully pointed out, it’s true even if you spell out “two.” So I was right, but also not as right as I could have been.

Even if it did count it as a word, it'd say "And it only took two years", and tw follows to alphabetically.
