What’s the name of your store? Do you carry any Russian groceries?

The Thirsty Quaker, we're a liquor store/homebrew supply shop. We don't carry any Russian groceries but we have a small cheese/salami fridge and sometimes I order random things for myself to hit order minimums. My wife is Belarusian/Ukrainian hence me knowing all the local spots to get the stuff.

I feel ashamed for not knowing this place, after many years in the neighborhood. I am definitely checking you out this weekend!!!

Weird question: do you know if non-pasteurized goat cheese can be legally sold in US? And if so, where? Ever since I came back from Portugal, I’m addicted.

I've visited several dairies, and have a few suppliers, and have even made Feta and cheddar, but unfortunately I don't know enough to answer that one.

The owner at Third and Vine used to brag about getting "illegal cheese" for their restaurant, but they closed a while ago =/

There's a sheep and goat farm near Atlantic City that sells cheese, I forget the name but they might be able to answer if you give them a ring.

I love your place! Have spent many a Friday afternoon loading up on craft beer for wrestling weekends.

Would like to know as well... we need more Russian/Eastern European food here in JC.

Hudson Market has a small section of international food and Ukrainian Hata inside is great (though a bit pricey) 😊

Was going to mention Hudson Greene Market - they have a surprising amount but you need to look closely for it (I found salo by accident yesterday 😂) same feelings about Ukrainian Hata - $12 for 4 syrniki feels steep but also they’re the only game in town so they can charge what they want
