As a HP resident you get a discounted rate at the Newport garage.
What’s the rate?
It says on the website that’s not for overnight use.
I just checked and I live just outside of their zone for the discounted parking.
Ah bummer. And you already talked to Parking Authority about a temporary pass while you wait for registration?
There are a couple listed on Craigslist - I would check there
CL -> North Jersey -> Housing -> Parking & Storage -> Search: Jersey City
Go back
You can park at the Newport mall
Apparently there's at least one website out there with incorrect info about this. Here's the real info:
https://www.njtransit.com/station/liberty-state-park-light-rail-station
I haven't personally done monthly / overnight parking there - but others in this sub have.
There’s no reason to be an asshole to new people
Tbh if you’re willing to pay that much I would check out the garages in Hudson house/ soho lofts/ enclave etc. I’m in soho lofts and the garage is open to monthly Parking for non residents. Not sure if Hamilton house or the buildings along the embankment allow public parking but it’s worth looking.
Thats for daily parking. Monthly pass is separate lot and overnight is fine. have done it many times when taking long trips.
You can get a 30 day temporary permit with the city! Just have to prove that you are a resident and that you have an appointment with the DMV to get the registration piece done. I would recommend that, only $30
They don't do that.
There is a reason, new people raise rents for existing people.
In theory.
Good luck with that. They like to play games.
Did they change that? I got a temporary pass from them by showing my lease while I waited for my registration to update when I moved here.
Told me they can't issue it because the state name on my registration wasn't New Jersey
This is the classic “fuck everyone who moved here the day after me” attitude that is so toxic.
I'm aware that you love when your rent goes up, but some of us aren't as fortunate to have the luxury of being okay with that.
then move or get over it
OP has single-handedly gentrified Hamilton Park
I live on 4th street and the cutoff it looks like it above 6th street, so I think I'm just out of their zone.
Or just support measures to keep housing affordable. The BIGGEST one being more housing being built.
we’re moving out dec 5th and have our spot till the 22nd if that works for you
If my rent goes up I’ll literally just move lol.
You can leave too
