Why would you post these prices? Are you trying to make sure no one shops here and spreads the word?

It’s actually reasonable, the portion was very large!

Unless the portions are monstrous this is crazy pricing

Seems pricey but hey its a food truck.

20

sutisuc t1_j1reki5 wrote

Shouldn’t that make it less expensive?

someguyfromnj t1_j1rh9sx wrote

Yes and no. Food trucks have a reputation for being expensive but giving massive portions…looks like OP is charging a lot but giving small portions.

I've never had a large portion from any food truck in JC in my life with sole exception being halal trucks.

Best food truck…Bowers and Central - old school hot dog cart.

Actual food trucks (think gyros) have actually always been really cheap and are known as such. It’s the new generation of restaurateur wannabes at street fairs or smorgasburg that likes to charge high prices, and the portions are often really small.

I can make velveeta shells with fresh cooked bacon at home for less than $5. Im not going out in this cold to get boxed mac.

PoopFartPatrol t1_j1rjuee wrote

Ahh yes velveeta. Very comparable stuff.

Probably. If you look at this guys Yelp pics...he uses something similar to Stop&Shop fake cheese.

Food trucks are always expensive. They dont make as much money as you think they do.

Yeah my gyro costing $6 is so pricey. And don’t get me started on the taco trucks. /s

Best of luck.

Would love to read/learn how your mac & cheese is made. Can you elaborate? (What kinds of cheese, etc etc)

Apprehensive_Gate935 t1_j1si8ol wrote

Everyone complaining about the price but haven’t even seen how good it taste. If it was Gucci selling mac&cheese for $100 everyone would buy. So stop being negative and just support their business

I’d pay $15 at an established restaurant. Maybe. But from a food truck at an ice rink? For some Buffalo chicken or bacon on top, all served on a paper plate and likely in tiny portions? That’s insane, regardless how good it is.

wavybbq t1_j1smu9p wrote

Agreed! I can’t believe the reactions on this. I went today and thought the price was reasonable considering the large portion size. Not to mention it was soooo good
