there might be conflicting information because:

A. #5 recycling only started a few years ago so old flyers might not be updated

B. some buildings have private trash management arrangements and therefore don't play by the city's rules

This comment is so amazing because 20 years ago there were literal pimps and dozens of prostitutes downtown, and now we're asking about recycling different types of plastic.

Everything just gets shipped to the same place. The recycling laws in America are absolute garbage.

lol have you watched them pick up recycling? It doesn’t even get sorted.

I think the bigger comment is not about what the City government is doing, but about what types of questions Jersey City residents are asking.

And all we had to do was price out the low income people who have bigger issues to worry about than recycling 🥰

I mean that's kind of it right? It shows the displacement/transition of born and raised local citizens

Yes - that’s why it’s a dumb comment to make. It’s not a natural transition it’s a deliberate effort to displace people. Why would anyone act like that is positive?

How is low crime a negative thing?

You realize not all poor people are criminals right? And they need a place to live too?

Also there is still plenty of crime lol JC famously under reports stats but if you know anyone in other neighborhoods shootings are a regular occurrence.

They can live in low cost of living areas. Shootings are not a regular occurrence in the heights or journal square. I have friends who live there.

There are no low cost of living areas anymore because of gentrification and anything remotely affordable is quickly diminishing. Welcome to planet earth - you’ll catch up soon!

I’m really proud of you for knowing people in the heights and journal square but JC is huge and that isn’t all of it so I don’t know what point you think you are making.

Meh. We still have prostitutes in town. If you are not noticing them, it's because you are not looking hard enough.

Yes. I’ve also surprised how many people here don’t separate their paper from the plastic.

You know only a small % of things actually get recycled? It mostly all just ends up together.
