Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to get a mid-sized (real) Christmas tree in Jersey City? All the trees I’ve been seeing on the street in Manhattan and Brooklyn are insanely expensive.

PORTA. 2 Pizzas, a pitcher of beer or wine, and a 4-6Ft tree for $65! Going tonight for dinner and bringing a tree home with me.

Can confirm. We went last week for lunch and ended up coming home with a 5.5’ tree. This alone would have been $50-60 so the 2 pizzas and beer/wine are the cherry on top!

Preferred price? Home Depot sells them from as little as $50 all the way to $120

If there is a Lowe’s they do similar prices. $65 for a 6-7 foot as opposed to more than double for one off the street

Home Depot trees are trash and you are lucky to get anyone to help you up there.

I’ve been going there for years. Haven’t had that experience. Trees have been good too.

There are like 4 people cutting, wrapping, and tying to your car at all times there. What exactly do you need help with?

I don't need help with anything, I buy my trees from the smaller lots around JC/ Hoboken.

I speak from my own experiences with purchasing trees at Home Depot, which is hilarious that people are so passionate about ones opinion.

So story time:

I went to home depot in 2019, the weather was shit. I don't expect any employee to stand out their in the rain waiting for some one to buy a tree.

I go to customer service, I ask if I can have assistance in purchasing a tree. They politely said sure and said someone will be up there.

I go upstairs, wait about 10-15 minutes, not an obnoxious amount of time, but the weather was shit. I head downstairs after 20 mins and went to Customer Service again. They proceeded to tell me I can go grab the tree, wrap and rig it to my car.

Annoyed, I went upstairs, grabbed a saw and my gloves from the trunk , picked a "Mid at best" tree and proceeded to trim the bottom, wrap and rig it to my car.

Their trees are not exceptional in anyway and are priced fairly for what you are getting.

Should this singular experience sour my mood on buying trees from Home Depot, probably not. However, those smaller lots have some of the most bubbliest people.

smallest tree is $80. The person said that they didnt get small trees this year. I remember buying from them $50 last year. Looks like they still have a lot of trees

Kanibal and Co. has small trees with stands for $40. But they might be smaller than what you’re looking for. They’re about 2-2.5 feet tall

bouquets and baskets (next to Grove St PATH, 1st and Jersey) delivered an 8.5 foot tree, hand-selected, to me in the heights for about $140, and the tree is SOOOO much better than the dry tree we got at St Nicholas last year (which was about $100 without delivery).

Depends on what you think affordable is, but I found the trees at 14th st garden center to be affordable (under $89 for a 6 foot tree, much less for smaller ones) and good quality! This is equal to what I paid for live trees in the past back home in North Carolina.

I was thinking of going there later today. Just need a little guy for the apartment. Like 3 feet tops.

Definitely worth it! We got their “tabletop” tree, which is a 3-3.5’ fir and really nice quality. $45 for the tree plus stand.

Lol i just left! I ended up upwelling myself out of the table top into a slightly bigger one with a baby stand. Guy gave me a deal since it was the last one too. Nice shop!
