Stay home plan on watching ABC/NBC, pass out by 11PM. Wake up grumpy at 8AM. Go to Wonder Bagel, complain about parking, get a PECSPK. That is the JC way.

Lol. But seriously so many people do. Ive been in JC since the 80s and never went to Times Square for NYE…Im sure its magical but the lack of restrooms and standing on your feet for 8+ hours is insane. I’ve met numerous folks who have literally taken meds and forgone liquids just to see the ball drop. Its insane.

The post 9/11 changes make it sorta miserable sounding. I've gone to one of the bars in the area, no view of the action but they keep a lane you can go out into the street with, that's the way to do it I tell you what.

I thought the harsh crowd control measures like pens you can't leave, and having to arrive like 8-12+ hours beforehand, were security after. Maybe that tamped down the crowds, but the experience sounds miserable.

My dad did the ball drop in the early 80s when it was kinda sketch to say the least, but that sounded better than what it is now to me.

Following. We using do Luna’s because they have live music and always have a special where you get an app, entre, dessert, and a glass of champagne for like $60 or something. But I want to do something different this year, so I’m also wondering what other restaurants do something special

If they still have open spots, check out Orale (either location). They do a really good job on NYE (have been 2 years previously). I think it was like $125pp for all you can drink + full dinner.
