got some film developed at autograph recently and talked to the owner a bit, and came away with a good impression. he had a lot of cool (old) equipment for sale.

What was the pricing & quality like?

When I work with film, I'm okay with a cheaper price and 90s drug store quality. Places seem to be going high end high priced as using film becomes more and more niche, trying to find the goldilocks on price/quality

His prices are reasonable and the owner, Rich, is very approachable! His scans definitely give me the 90s vibe I used to get from getting other film developed.

I liked the work I’ve gotten done at Autograph and the owner is really nice!

Also, there’s an NJ film photographers discord! Not strictly film, but good folks in there: https://discord.gg/qUCUv25w :)

I recently had about 5 rolls of film developed at autograph and the shop owner was very nice but my negatives came out pretty poor looking and my scans were ultra low quality, too grainy to even do anything with.

i was really disappointed because jersey city really doesn’t have any other options. i’ll only using gelatin labs (mail in and they have drop boxes in the city) and the color house (in chelsea) moving forward.

nice owner but if you get your negatives developed there. They will get scratched. Better to get them done in NYC or somewhere else.
