The compressor leaks. They hired a contractor to fix it.

I don't know any details but the rink is dealing with technical issues and should be back up relatively soon.

Could it be due to the warmer/milder weather we've been having lately?

Maybe that caused the issue? Otherwise it usually runs to Mid March.
