My wife is due in mid May and her parents are hoping to come stay near us for one or two months after. They typically get a hotel but this time, they wanted to research other options since the stay is longer. The Airbnb / Vrbo options are sparse / over priced. Are there any other options? I’ve heard that the Silverman building does short term rentals.

You can try leasebreak too. Usually folks moving for one reason or another and trying to transfer the remainder of their lease so they minimize fees and whatnot. Often price is negotiable.

Edit: typo

Well, there’s also that guy desperately trying to unload his overpriced 1-bed lease at the Hendrix - only $3.7K and a two-minute walk to Grove St.

Urby does short term leases. I found their listing on Airbnb, but if you contact them directly, it’s slightly cheaper than going through Airbnb. You can email them at abode@urby.com.

I went through the same thing when I was due. My mom stayed for a month. She ended up finding something on Airbnb and then reached out to the owner directly and negotiated the rate since she was going to be there for a month. It worked out really well.

Silverman does short term, fully furnished units too. They’re nice but on the pricy side.

The new Residence Inn is a decent option too, if they don’t need a lot of space. It has a kitchen and is basically a studio apartment in a hotel setting. But definitely go in person and talk to the front desk manager. They offered us a rate lower than what could be found online.

The sonesta hotel used to be an extended stay hotel. Call and ask if they still offer the special rates since I’m sure the rooms are still set up with kitchenettes

Contact the Residence Inn at Grove or Sonesta for long term deals.

Check my comment history. I replied 7th time is the charm to the guy who has been flooding this place with his $3700/month apartment
