Apologies if this is well known or has been posted, but it's really cool to see. I found out when I lived close by, about 15 years ago. Everytime someone out of town visits this area, I try to show them this. The statue looks way bigger in real life ❤

Yes. Most people are surprised to find out the SOL is in NJ (the island itself is technically NY).

Noticed this for the first time at the very end of my first solo cross-country road trip. Made for a bit of an emotional welcome home, and now I always make sure to glance up at her when I’m there. Thanks for sharing :)

Have you ever noticed that when you are on Warren Street looking toward the Statue of Liberty from, say, Montgomery Street, the statue looks large and close, and as you walk toward the statue, it almost seems to get smaller and recede? It's an illusion, of course. Much like how the moon or sun appears larger and closer when on the horizon. Try it sometime.

I love going all the way down to shop rite and taking a look down to the Statue. It always amazes me.

i lived on warren for years and had a view out one of my living room windows...until they put the condos in. it was cool while it lasted.
