Yes. Most people are surprised to find out the SOL is in NJ (the island itself is technically NY).

Noticed this for the first time at the very end of my first solo cross-country road trip. Made for a bit of an emotional welcome home, and now I always make sure to glance up at her when I’m there. Thanks for sharing :)

I used to live right over there and this view was always so cool coming home.

Have you ever noticed that when you are on Warren Street looking toward the Statue of Liberty from, say, Montgomery Street, the statue looks large and close, and as you walk toward the statue, it almost seems to get smaller and recede? It's an illusion, of course. Much like how the moon or sun appears larger and closer when on the horizon. Try it sometime.

"Woah, this is so cool!" - Me, every time I make a left turn from 2nd on Warren and see the Statue of Liberty 🗽

This could easily be a shot from a movie… that is based in ‘New York’

Yes exactly, and I wanted to mention that....it's just like when the moon is close to a building, and it looks like you can reach out and touch it

Oh...I didn't realize that!

Apologies if this is well known or has been posted, but it's really cool to see. I found out when I lived close by, about 15 years ago. Everytime someone out of town visits this area, I try to show them this. The statue looks way bigger in real life ❤
