My senior kitty passed last Thursday (RIP lil girlie) and I have an unopened 8-lb bag of PRESCRIPTION dry food for cats with kidney disease. I also have another 8-lb bag of the same food, but it's been opened and about half of the food is gone. Not sure if shelters take prescription food.

Liberty Humane Society took my prescription cat food. Give them a try.

Word of advice liberty human is still in February of 2020, you have to call in advance to schedule a drop off and leave it on the curb otherwise they will not take it.

They're so pathetic it's unbelievable. They truly think it's a reasonable to adopt a dog or cat over zoom!

That's how I dropped off my donation. I've never done a dead drop before. Very cloak and dagger.

I'm so sorry about your cat :-( JerseyCats, the local rescue, will take it.

I believe /u/anthonyolszewski runs a cat shelter in the Heights?

I am very sorry that you lost your friend. We do have a cat with kidney disease. Unfortunately, she refuses to eat the proper food. If nobody in the subreddit can use the food, you can email me at MetroCatRescue@gmail.com and I will try to find someone. Thank you.

I have a cat with kidney disease who loves science diet k/d formula. It can be difficult to get it. I would love to take it off your hands.
