Anyone have any recommendations for quality places to get their dogs teeth professionally cleaned within 30 minutes of Jersey City?

Just got a quote from our vet for $1,400 and my mind was blown. A simple google search says average cost should be between $300-$700.

The vet has to give you a high estimate in case they are going to extract teeth. No matter what you need to do this at a GOOD vet. The anesthesia is risky, and animals die under anesthesia ALL. THE. TIME. Do NOT go to a "discount" place to do this. Ask if that number includes extractions, which may not even be necessary. 25 years ago I paid $800 for a full dental for my dog, so $1,400 seems right to me. But really, of all the things in life to skimp on this is NOT one of them.

Just had this done with my 4 year old dog at Veterinaire. Reason so expensive is they have to sedate the dog entirely for the procedure. I can’t fully remember but I believe ours was around $800

I take my cat to Blue Pearl in Paramus, not sure about the dogs but heard mostly good reviews from the cat parents. It’s pretty expensive but cats need to get full anesthesia for the proper dental cleaning. My poor boi has juvenile gingivitis and his gums and teeth look a lot better after 2 cleanings, a year apart

Closer to an hour away from JC, but People for Animals is a great non-profit (registered 501 (c) (3) ) that provides essential vet care. They do dental cleanings in Robbinsville for $150.

Take a look a their Google reviews. They have set up a space that is welcoming and as stress-free as possible for animals (and their parents). The practice is women-owned (most practices are corporate or hedge-fund owned, do your research on this) and the two women who own it were two of the top vets in Tribeca before they left to open this practice. They do excellent work! They are also starting puppy classes, acupuncture and other therapies in the therapy room in the basement. They are fairly priced, conservative in their approach, they don't push unnecessary vaccinations, and they both have a house full of rescue animals at home. They both absolutely love animals and are incredibly smart. Also, they both live in JC so they have a whole lot of skin in the game here. They have 88 5 star Google reviews and have only been open for about 5 months. Also, every single rescue in both JC and Hoboken have switched all their care to Sage, and that's really saying something.
