Here’s a lofi track with rotoscope animation I made about those isolated nights doomscrolling and wide awake - I was experimenting with tritones a lot in this to give it an off-kilter feel

Sasha Vie “Sleepless” (youtube)

Sasha Vie “Sleepless” (spotify apple etc)

Enjoy!

Donkinfinity t1_j9b6xce wrote

Wow yeah it’s cool to hear the way you harmonized this progression leaning into the dissonance of those tritones on what would’ve otherwise been a more soothing lo-fi track. It feels like an alternate dimension where everything is darker than it normally would be.

1

sashavie t1_j9btuq9 wrote

Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah I was trying to convey that dreading sense of unease lurking underneath, something I've been feeling over the past few years lol - sort of like how things on the surface (personally speaking) seem okay, but underneath there's something a little "off" that you can't quite put your finger on, like that creeping sense of dread before a big scare in a horror movie (but the scare not coming, so it's just low-key dread)

The use of tritones seemed to just work (at least for me) to convey that

Thanks for listening!

Looking for a fun and funky new way to approach dating? Look no further than Kamm's latest single, "Digits"! While many people are turning to social media and online dating platforms to find their match, Kamm is taking it old school with his catchy new tune. "Digits" is all about the classic dating tactics that were used before the digital age, like exchanging phone numbers and coming up with clever pick-up lines.

According to Mr. Raz, the producer of "Digits," this single is perfect for those who are a little shy or anxious about approaching someone they're attracted to. With its catchy beat and sing-along lyrics, "Digits" is sure to be a hit with anyone who loves a good funk tune.

The VAM-United Studios team in Germany is already raving about "Digits," calling it an "ohrwurm" - or earworm - that you won't be able to get out of your head. And Mr. Raz says that the song is "funky enough for Romania," so you know it's going to be a hit across the globe.

If you want to make sure you don't miss out on any of Kamm's fun and funky content, be sure to follow him on Instagram at u/KAMMVAM. And mark your calendars for February 14th, when "Digits" will be released to the world. Don't miss your chance to experience this fresh new take on dating and relationships!

Latest song for a band my brother and I are trying to start. Got a lot more written and half-recorded, but this is the best so far, I think. It's about the Heaven's Gate suicides, so kinda dark and heavy: [Devil's Note - "The Gate"](https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1161892)

This one's a little more silly and groovy. It's mostly just to take a piss in Kenneth Copeland's eye, but it's also kind of about prosperity gospel preachers and religious snake oil salesmen in general: [Devil's Note - "Coping With Kenneth"](https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1132607)

Hey folks, this is the latest single from my band.

Komodo Fox - Radical Remission: https://youtu.be/4GYHIQTufVU

This song was conceived when we were still a duo and wanted to perform a cover from Royal Blood - their sound really inspired us and we ended up writing this bluesy riff. Initially it had a more classic trio arrangement, but we wanted to see how it would sound with only bass and drums as instruments :) Lyrically, the song talks about "getting cured", tho its specific inspiration was my relationship with a chronic illness I've been dealing with for more than 10 years.

Hope you like it and if you do we would definitely appreciate you sharing with your mates!

Cheers from Berlin

“Man On The Moon” - Delacey

I’ve been listening to this basically non-stop since it came out on Thursday. It’s cinematic and grand and intimate at the same time and structurally I really enjoy how the song ends and I wish more songs pulled off this kind of thing. I would say the genre is a mix of Mazzy Star shoe gaze with the more recent Lana Del Rey music (like “There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard”) but with 808’s thrown in the choruses to ground it in a bit of the low-end I’m used to hearing in more modern music.

Just released my new single 'No Offense', a wild roller coaster ride that abruptly swings from energetic to dreamy and back to energetic with everything in between. It’s my most ambitious vision and production so far featuring catchy choruses, crunchy guitars, dreamy arpeggiating synths, and a classic 90’s movie reference in the lyrics.

Love to hear your thoughts :) >> Yam Bakshi - No Offense

I think I'm breaking a rule here, I'm going to put recommend a top 40 single because this band is hugely popular within the people who know them and irrelevant everywhere else, often called "the biggest band youve never heard of" and they arent "corporate bullshit"

LoveJoy released their first song in over a year called "Call me what you like" It's a huge step up in production value for them but it's a sound change that most the fans welcome it. I do for sure, they actually mixed vocals for the for the first time in any of there projects. The band took a short hiatus from releasing music to gain a stage presence, having immerged from Covid they couldn't get venues that catered to the fans they already had.

I like this one more than the rest of their stuff because it ticks most of my boxes in what Id look for in a song:

-A memorable moment (the dramatic monologue in the 2nd bridge)

-A large dynamic shift

-cool drums

-an interesting guitar riff

If I've interested you please listen to the song cause I think its great and that these guys deserve so much more respect than they get.

I saw them live a few years ago and they put on one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. Not only is their showmanship on full display at their concerts, but they are phenomenal musicians to boot.

I’d like to share “The Dirt I’m Buried In,” a track from their latest album, Dance Devil Dance. It’s very melodic and catchy. It’s such a cool song. They’re a very diverse band and can do heavy songs with screaming or more mellow numbers with clean vocals like this one.

abitrolly t1_j9sf3vs wrote

It is not that I feel much of Massive Attack grove here. The music here feels like a filler for voices, at least in the first part, while my perception of Massive Attack is that voices are just another tool to add expression to the sound. The second part is catchy, but in the end the whole song sounds repetitive. I would switch second part and the first places, and if that makes the first part unbearable, would think about removing or reworking that - adding silence, removing the repeating voice pitches, work with slowing down maybe. That is, if I compare it to MA, but that might not be your goal. Just my 0.02 cents. )

Hi! I hope you will like what we do. We are the international Alternative rock, Punk band "Another Day Of Glory"! We met each other on the musiciansearch site www.bandmix.com in the summer of 2022. There are only twopeople in our band at this moment. Max Lane (Ukraine) - Guitar, Bass Cesar Henrique da Silva (Brazil) - Vocals, Drums, Keyboards, Mixing and Mastering engineerBut when our album will be done, we will find the rest of the members and reunite for liveperformances. It so happened that our paths crossed in such a difficult time. What is happening inUkraine left a mark in our souls and found expression in our work.Even our logo, a road sign, symbolised the time when the occupiers had just begun a full-scale invasion. The Ukrainians began to paint over all road signs, so the occupiers had bigproblems with logistics. And the holes on the sign are the result of enemy shelling. We were inspired to write this song by Ukrainian heroes who risk their lives for thefreedom of their country!

abitrolly t1_j9sketb wrote

The riffs are good. The irony of the lyrics is that the anthem can be sung by both sides of the conflict, and the ones who've smelled dead bodies won't be the ones listening to it. There is nothing heroic in the war for me. In other times I would appreciate the lyrics, maybe even as speed metal. But the only music association with that war that I have right now is doom metal with a footage of dead in the dirt covered with the snow of passing winter.

1

MaxLane35 t1_j9t1pcq wrote

Thanks for your opinion and glad you like the reefs!

Actually, the meaning of lyrics was not about the war as such. It`s about people risking their lives for the freedom and security of their country and families.

I`ve been living in Ukraine all my life and when rockets are constantly flying over your head, I can say with confidence that war is the worst thing that people could do! I am not a warrior and I understand that now I can sleep peacefully only for the reason that the heroes defending our country from invasion are risking their lives. I'm proud of them and this song is our tribute to them.

Wow. I can't remember what the music reminds me of, but the sound is pretty solid. Not sure about the vocals. I would try to lower pitch down in some parts, but I can't do music. :D So I would just ask somebody to try and sing that part for me.

Do you have a version without vocals? I doubt I can find someone to do them, but at least it would be easier to try.

Rise up, an orchestral composition by Matt Bekkers (Video footage from Metropolis)

Imagine a world where music is forbidden.
(Don't do this for too long.)
This dystopian premise inspired me to write the musical story of a revolt led by a musician, Rose. I won't tell you more for the moment about this project which will mix music and narration, here's a short musical extract to put you in the mood.
Rise up, Rose. May the sting of your thorns awaken us from our stupor.

Check out our brand new garage rock / indie punk banger "Diet Punk"! 🐻🐻🐻🐻

VOODOO BANDITS - DIET PUNK

Our first release of the year, ‘Diet Punk’ is our most energetic song to date and one of our favourites to perform live! ‘Diet Punk’ is a crunchy, larger than life garage-rock anthem laced with punk rock sensibilities. Packed with high octane vocals, soaring guitars and punchy beats. It’s all about the frustrations frontman Ben had suffered during his journey of self-discovery in not feeling that he could express himself enough and was written as a way of pushing past those boundaries that Ben had felt at the time.

The lyrics depict a sense of being held back by society and what’s considered normal all whilst sticking a middle finger to that to exclaim the mantra of the song itself. ‘Diet Punk’ is the first single from our upcoming debut EP called “Can I Quit My Day Job Yet?” which was recorded and produced at the legendary Vale Studios, Worcestershire with Jon Hucks. ‘Diet Punk’ was mixed by ourselves and mastered by Graeme Lynch of 209 Mastering.

Syphilis - "Thy Shrine"

The most recent video from the new album by Syphilis, Brushed By My Wings, Acid Doom from the Florida swamps.

This is easily my favorite song on the album, as well as the hardest one. I had a great time producing and recording it.

Hi everyone I just dropped a new track that I’m super proud of:) It’s called Impasse and it, as well as my other wips, have began to develop a sound for myself that I love. An impasse is an impassable roadway, just as all things seem in our own lives. An impasse can be flipped into opportunity with a simple change of perspective. Elevating thought and emotion through awareness, love, and kindness is the way. Enjoy this expression of my Impasses overcame ❤

Conflicting Motive - “Ghosts”

Our sound fluctuates between prog and shoegaze, to ethereal/space rock, with a focus on piano.

We’re a DIY prog/alt-rock band based out of Orlando, and we’ve been writing/recording/mixing/mastering our album for the last four years; super stoked to drop our album March 10, 2023!

Hey Guys,

So this is bulgarian folk x bass music and it ended up working a lot better than you'd think. I wanted to push my songwriting abilities and what better way than to take an old folk tune, orchestrate it, add crazy drums and it with the power of 10 suns.

For real though I would love to just talk to people about it and get some reactions because its not the typical structure for a song of this genre. waiting to hear back from you!. Okay thanks for reading/listening (:.

A track I dropped recently after being on a pretty long re branding hiatus.

Id say this has a more classical style of rap mixed with a bit of modern influence.

A track telling a bit of a story that stem from destructive behavior and the fact my whole life was revolving around the ring of my phone. dropping any task I was partaking in whether it be with family or friends to go handle risky business, with my morals highly absent at the time.
