Sasha Vie - "Prelude + Fugue In B-Flat Minor" (Youtube)

Sasha Vie - "Prelude + Fugue In B-Flat Minor" (Spotify Apple etc)

This is my attempt at a Baroque style piece on an organ

Classical purists have mentioned that they don't hear a Fugue in there, but it's my take on what I learned (or remembered at least) as a child having to play The Well Tempered Clavier on the piano

I composed and recorded this on a MIDI keyboard using an Oberheim sample library clone (from Brainworx) that I tweaked

The video I rotoscoped footage of rolling sunflowers on a blue sky in honor of Ukraine (my ancestry is Taiwan so my family and extended family have been watching what's been going on there... very very closely)

Enjoy!

Nice! I use organ settings a lot in my own compositions, and really enjoy listening live to big pipe organs.

The Ukraine-themed video was cool, too.

Platinum Moon is an up and coming young rock band with a pretty unique style and fresh ideas that remind me of the greats of blues and classic rock but every song oozes with originality. Every member is skilled with their instrument but the cherry on top is the female lead singer who has such raw power in her voice that it just gets to you.

They deserve all the popularity that they can get.

Black Hole Zion - Running on Empty

A synth wave-ish cover of the Jackson Browne song. Self promotion. I played this. Long story, but the whole thing started when a podcast about the Shadowrun games asked me to do a version for their opening. I was surprised that it turned out, and decided to release it.

I just released the second single from my upcoming sophomore album. It’s called The Reach, based on a Stephen King short story. Kind of a dreamy, mellow, harmony-laden indie folk song. You can listen here:

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/4oTUmQPrj2mhWec6yOoQeK?si=nEvmcO_NT7eoCa1Y_sSIbg

YouTube: https://youtu.be/onrg9YeM8tY

Really proud of this one, especially the lyrics and the production. I started using some real tools to go with Reaper, like Ozone 10 and other Izotope/Output/Arturia plug-ins. All writing, recording, and producing is done by me and me only. I’d appreciate a listen :)

Hey there,

My name is Marc Maynon. I've been directing my own music videos for the past 2 years or so and I've just released my third self-directed music video. It's for my song "Something to Live For."

This one stars my older brother Josh who plays drums on the track. Here's a link so you can check it out.

Marc Maynon - "Something to Live For"

I filmed the music video primarily with my GoPro Hero4, but on occasion, I used the Canon Rebel Ti.5 for certain shots. I edited it in Premiere. I did some VFX in After Effects and finally graded it on DaVinci Resolve. I storyboarded the music video before going into filming and because of that, I feel like the photography came out pretty nice. I'm really proud of it and I feel like this is the best thing I've created to date.

CAFUNÉ - perspective (mv)

I found this in my yt recommended home page & it’s this female/male duo with the lead female singing vocals. I guess I would call this genre dreampop/indie/experimental type music; so if you like stuff like that, check this out! But the thumbnail interested me because the video is this “going through the motion” type vibe and it’s so continuous and simplistic yet it’s unique and they have a intriguing unique sound too. And the female’s voice is my favorite that I could listen too all day ~

Well Grounded - "Sailing On"

My first single released under this artist name and the first song I've released in 10 years. I originally wrote and performed this song ~20 years ago. I did all the arrangement, recording, vocals, mixing, and mastering. It's really the first song that I've recorded that I'm happy with and proud of. I hope some of you find meaning it. Thanks for listening!

N.B. It's accidentally marked as 'Explicit' (my bad), but there aren't any curses in it (unless you're into that, in which case I invite you to add your own as you sing along).

‘1-800’ is a groovy, spacey, beat-like album I put out in 2022. To me, it feels like each of the 7 songs in this album belong in the same group, while at the same time being notably unique.

If you listen to any one of them, ‘Dazie’ and ‘Het Gigh’ are my personal favorites.

Thanks for your time!

TheSpacedGhost - I Lost Myself https://youtu.be/fur6pUthsWU

This is one of my newest singles. I enjoy tastefully infusing sounds, using profound lyrics that have deep meaning while still following a tantalizing melody. I’m a multimedia and multi genre artist with music being just one aspect. I have EDM music, rap/hip hop, instrumentals, etc.

I’m gonna post this here even though I think it’s kind of dumb.. there’s no interactions on these posts except from other artists posting. Literally no one has any upvotes. I’ll at least try to listen to a lot of posters stuff and throw out some upvotes to make this less of a wasteland.

Maybe y’all(mods) should go through these lists once a month and post the best ones or most upvoted ones to the main sub, and that would boost engagement and add a little value to this other than it being a redirected waste bin to keep clutter off the main sub

I worked for years in a tech consulting role for a massive corporation before I decided to pursue music more. Everyone always says to write what you know, but I was torn between thinking this topic was too bland for a pop song, while also knowing how many people could connect with the specific feeling of being trapped in an office job. I'd love to know what you think.

Aristiden t1_jedof3y wrote

Some feedback:
The verse is much stronger than the chorus and quite a jarring shift. Mostly that's because the verse has a distinct style and the chorus seems to be aiming for a much poppier tone. I would recommend you stick to your stronger songwriting instincts rather than trying to find something pop. It would take a lot of luck for pop audiences to find you anyway, so why not try to lean into a more attainable and more artistic niche?
Also, be careful with how you assign syllables to melody lines. In the pursuit of making your lyrics accessible and poppy, you've used cliched phrases which might have the right number of syllables, but their accented syllables don't fit the beat of your song.
