Currently have progressive and it will be coming up for renewal soon. What company do you all have? What do you recommend? Is it worth finding an insurance agent to find the best one?

I use Safety and never had a problem with them.
MAPFRE/AAA. Cheapest one I found, and they’re a nonprofit. Gecko, Progressive, etc. we’re far more expensive for me, personally.
If you can get it USAA
A while back i switched from usaa to geico and saved about $2000
I love that I have an insurnace agent. I never have to go to the registry. She handles any issues I have. She's always telling me about ways to get lower rates. And when there is an issue, I can just go to her office, no need to call the insurance company and talk to three different people before getting an answer on anything. I think having an insurnace agent is well worth it.
Can you PM me who you use?!
I have Arabella for home and auto. Affordable and great coverage. Maybe more expensive than the likes of Geico but also far better to deal with and get the money if needed.
Progressive and it is extremely affordable. We had Arabella years ago. Switched to Hanover because they offered us a huge discount. Premium went up 3 times as much when we had a teen driver. After a few months I checked with Progressive. They offered us a rate only a bit above our Hanover rate for 2 adults with spotless driving records. This included a teen driver and 3rd car. We have been loyal customers since.
I had Hanover for 20+ years, and when my auto/home/umbrella insurance renewal came up, I decided to look around finally. I ended up with Safeco, more coverage, and saved $800+. I do have an insurance agency my family has been working with for many, many years, IMA in Worcester, and they were very helpful in finding the best coverage for me.
You will save a bunch a money on ur car insurance by switchin' to Geico.I had Geico for years and loved until I was forced to switch to a local comany because of a car loan.
I loved Geico and wish I could still use them but my car loan bank says no!
I’m kicking myself for not switching to geico sooner. My car insurance went from over $1200/year with Safety to just under $600 with Geico - with all the same safety coverage. For reference I’m mid 30s, never been in an accident and have a 2021 Jeep.
I've heard out of state companies like Progressive and Gieco do not provide free windshield replacements when they crack or are damaged from highway stones. Is this true? My wife's windshield cracked last September and what would have been a $660 bill cost me zero.
Incorrect since it is a MA law to provide free windshield replacements….
Good to know, thanks.
I believe technically they can either be free or covered with a $100 deductible separate from your regular deductible. I have Progressive with a $100 glass deductible because I'm cheap but had no issues getting my windshield replaced with it last year. Safelite dealt with the insurance and just charged me the $100.
USAA, they’re the best

Having an agent is awesome. Switched from liberty mutual to safety and saved a ton of money.
