I can do even better. $575/week to work Friday-Sunday. It’s salary too. You get paid even if we don’t work. Also there is health and dental to be had 80/20. A few weeks out of the year we have to work more days, but we also basically have two months off in the winter (still paid). Have to lift 35 pounds repeatedly. We set up crowd control fence for special events. Travel around the region. We buy dinner while in the road. Always decent hotels. Good crew. No yelling. Everyone is an adult.

Edit: We're based in Plymouth. DM for more info,

Shit, I went to a Vocational High School with an electrical background, after graduating I ended up working office jobs for half that wage, wanting to go back cause I know trades are eager to find people and I’m just here procrastinating

Wow. Looks like I’m out of luck then. I wish I could raise the rate, but I’m not in that position. I know the pay kind of sucks, but it’s easy work with no nights or weekends and no experience required. Maybe it’ll catch someone’s attention.

You should tell your bosses they need to pay more. On that salary your prospective employee will only qualify for an $1,100 apartment. Good luck finding that anywhere near Waltham! Even a room with multiple roommates goes for more than that these days.

No you have to go into a decade's worth of debt for third party training first.

Alright guys I just thought I'd throw a joke in, albeit probably an overly cynical one. I have no idea what it takes to do HVAC at a level that guy is proposing. I just pull fiber optic cable for a living, if I could learn HVAC and double my pay with that guy's company I'd do it in a heartbeat

There's a program from the department of labor called H-2B that you can use to hire ppl from abroad to work in the peak season and go back home. A lot of employers don't know about it and I know plenty of people out there that would die to come here to work legally even for a minimum wage: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/immigration/h2b

h2b kids from europe flood the cape and boston every summer, its a very well known program. a lot of the kids look for jobs out there because its a fun beach or city environment so they can have fun on their days off when not working. There are only so many of those H2b's given out by the government here, so you don't see as many h2b kids working the inland side of things. They're coming here to make money and have fun. source: worked with a bunch when I worked in restaurants on the cape in my 20's. They also make WAY better money than minimum wage when they work their asses off.

It's well known at resorts but that's it. The majority of business owners out of the cape don't really know about it like in construction for example. You can hire ppl with experience and everything. Not limited to kids from Europe just looking to have fun on their school break
