Sorry about being so specific, but planning on taking a trip to Massachusetts through The Berkshires and Shelburne Falls during October, but I'm interested if there's anything happening such as festivals, markets, parades, ect. as well as other neat little points of interest and locations worth checking out. I'm open to anything that might be a fun way to spend time while I'm there, so I'd love to hear what you guys have in mind :)

Shelburne has a lot ,the bridge of flowers.

Check the scenic Mohawk trail for the 35 miles of scenic byway from the Shelburne are to the hairpin turn in North Adams.

Northamton has great restaurants ,anything you fancy really.

If you take the Mowhawk trail east (rt.2) you get to the Quabbin region ,also wonderful.

Take I-91 N to Brattleboro VT and spend a dat there too

Ashfield has a nice fall festival in October. There’s a fun corn maze in Charlemont. Definitely check out MassMoCA in North Adams and The Clark in Williamstown.

Berkshire Botanical Gardens have their Harvest Fests in October, it may be too far south for you, but the Stockbridge area is nice for a day trip.

Norman Rockwell museum is in Stockbridge.

Clark Museum has the Munch Exhibit this summer into October.

Check out Naumkaeg- not sure what is happening in Oct, but its beautiful

I hope early in Oct. A bit before peak is way better than a bit after peak.

FYI it's just past agricultural fair time.

It's over the border in VT. Go to Scott Orchards. They are serious about apples and have the most heirloom apples and it's super fun to go and get 20 kinds of apples you never had and taste test them. And it's pretty niche but if dry masonry and stone walls interest you... it's your place.

Have a picnic at the Mount. Edith Wharton's. It's free to use the grounds and the house costs money and is just meh-- as far as our amazing historic homes go.

Do Montague Book mill, drive to the top of Mt Sugarloaf for the view, and go to Northampton for people watching, food, Herrell's .
