100% hands down. Go to Barmakian Jewelers at the Nashua location (and not just for “tax” reasons). The rings are on the second floor. If you go on a Saturday go right at open but the MOST IMPORTANT THING, ask for Sasha. He’s amazing, 30 years in the business and the floor manager (he’s there most days)

Also get lab diamonds, real ones support the awful cartel called De Beers and subjugate whole cultures. They look as good if not better and are a FRACTION of the cost.

I think a comparable lab vs natural was 3.5k vs 24k for the stone alone… (it was .75 carat)

You also get 10% off bands there too. Delivery time can vary, but budget 6-10 weeks. They custom order for best fit instead of “sizing” a display ring which weakens it

Blue Nile has a showroom in NH which might save on some tax. They can also be ordered online.

E Scott Originals in Somerville, https://www.escottoriginals.com/

Emily is wonderful to work with and my engagement ring is handmade and one of a kind. All of her rings are so beautiful, plus she uses recycled metals and antique re-purposed stones.

I bought mine from brilliant earth. Gf picked the stone and setting, I ordered, had it in about two weeks. They also have a store you can go to try on in person and find the right size

Summer Wind Jeweler in Portsmouth NH. Lauren, the manager, sat down with my now fiancé and I for 6 hours while we designed a custom ring, taking the stone out of another ring, looking at it with a microscope, for the custom setting. Super impressed with them. Also, tax free (;
