Oddly, I did worse the closer I got to my house. I don't use a map locally so guess I can't recognize towns by shape.

19/20 because I couldnt remember the Pike exits. That was fun though

20/20. Got them all. Most likely because I’ve been to almost every corner of the state lol

That was fun. 14/20 but for a couple I did mis-tap because of fat fingers and I didn't zoom in when I should have.

This was fun, thanks! I got 19/20...the only one I had trouble locating was Fitchburg. For some reason I always picture Fitchburg as being in the MetroWest area.

I'm aware. I'm an urban planner. I was merely pointing out Springfield and Hartford being part of the same metro to highlight how far south Springfield is. I believe only 25 miles or so separate the two cities. The dot may look too far south to you because the dot itself is probably much larger than the city at that scale.

I see the point. Springfield is on the Mass Turnpike, which appears to cross the state horizontally. It’s actually going southwest. And it’s geographically large. But it doesn’t border Connecticut as someone else said.

It's hard without the highways in there for reference!

I checked maps and a see the point. But Springfield is also geographically large. And the Mass Turnpike goes through it and people think it is horizontal across the state. It’s not. It goes southwest across the state, but still appears somewhat horizontal. I think it is an optical illusion that fooled me.

No. More like some being fuzzy over something that is fact. Either it is or it isn’t. It’s not a gray area. Facts are not pedantic. It’s like saying that you live on the border of Massachusetts and Maine.

brads99 t1_jauanj6 wrote

18/20, clicked Fitchburg for Marlboro and Taunton for Brockton

Tacoman404 t1_jaubkp3 wrote

Sort of and on paper sure. The connection isn’t one of a typical metro area. There is quite a bit of work commute between the two or rather from their suburbs to each other, but there isn’t a ton of built up infrastructure connecting them like other metro areas.

Now do the smallest cities in towns. I want to see people try and find Florida, Peru, and Wales on a Massachusetts map.

RickWest495 t1_jb1hyi8 wrote

Yes. Optical illusion. People think is a straight East/West highway. There is a cool video on YouTube about the creation of the highway and why is was built where it is. If crosses the least number of rivers, goes around the most number of hills and saved the most number of buildings possible.
