Been struggling to find a place to get good cocktails without driving to Boston.
Many good options in Hudson, and less than greater than is one of the best!
I'm fond of the Horseshoe.
Horseshoe used to be my go to when they always had 100+ unique craft brews on tap. Last few times I’ve gone it’s very heavy with mass produced beers, a bunch of locals, and a handful of crafts, usually under 30 or so total beers
Yeah I feel like they used to be better before they shook things up a few years ago. It’s still OK, but never my first choice anymore.
Rapscallion in Acton for beer. Stir in Westford for martinis. Forge & Vine in Groton for everything.
Forge and vine is great! I also love gibbet hill
I've heard multiple parties say they don't feel right after a single drink at Stir, be advised
I’ve enjoyed the cocktails (and tapas) at Azucar in Maynard.
I’ll second Azúcar for cocktails. Pretty solid.
I've become a big fan of some of the drinks at Sobre Mesa in Sudbury.
This place looks awesome, thank you so much!
Enjoy!
Been wanting to try Sanctuary in Maynard
The bar has a great vibe, the cocktails are adequate!
Azucar Tapas Bar, Kith and Kin, Sanctuary, Woods Hill Table, Less Than Greater Than, Rapscallion
Love woods hill!
Rail trail in Hudson has great cocktails!
Went to the Evergreen Room in Hudson last night for the first time and it was WONDERFUL!
Oooo this place has been on my list of spots to check out!!
Kith and kin in Hudson off Washington street. Welly’s in Hudson as well on Main Street
Azucar in downtown Maynard was surprisingly solid for cocktails tbh
NOT being snarky, but just because I, too enjoy good cocktails, but don't get out much...
Where do you love cocktails from?
Usually, we go to Woods Hill in Concord but just wanted to switch it up.
https://bar-25ayer.com/ wouldn't be far.
The Newburyport menu has pictures - they look delicious.
Less Than Greater Than in Hudson is where we go for cocktails.
Less Than Greater Than It's a speakeasy in Hudson. It looks like an old cobbler shop from the outside. You will find the entrance inside New City MicroCreamery. Rail Trail across the street also has great cocktails. Same owners.
Great food, great drinks, and actually, great ice cream too.
Sobre Mesa in Sudbury. Surprisingly good cocktails. Recommend the Cold Snap.
This is further out than Acton Maynard but if you want great live music, good food then Bull Run in Shirley……. don’t know about cocktails…
Rapscalions in Acton is really good and Dog friendly
If you can find parking. Also a little overrated.
Blue coyote
I used the hang there occasionally like 10 years ago it’s probably gone
Can confirm. Long gone.
I’ve heard a reopening is on the cards.
As someone who grew up in Acton and spent 24+ years there, there are like…zero restaurants worth going to lmao
Just moved here from Quincy. Loving everything...except the food. My god, the food scene here is terrible!
Yep, and the fact that there are near zero places to Uber eats from hahah
Moved here from San Francisco, I had no idea how good I had it... food scene is super limited.
Welcome to central mass (yes still metro west but…it may as well be central west with the food scene).
The food in many towns around there is hit or miss…I’ve lived here for a decade and still can’t get used to it. Lots of good options when you find them, but when it’s bad, it’s bad.
Yea but can’t hate on a sandwich at TC Landos.
Sorrento’s will always be my go-to for pizza, with New London (west acton) as a very close second for mozzarella sticks - I never liked TC haha
Logan’s Table, Bocado , or Brady’s in Leominster
Is Blue Coyote still there? Loved that place (granted, I moved out of Acton over a decade ago).
Dearly departed
Boston? While I don't have a specific recommendations around Acton/Maynard, you need not drive any further in than Woburn to get to The Baldwin Bar.
I’ve heard good things about the cocktails at Rail Trail Flatbread in Hudson.
As a resident I can confirm the food is better than the cocktails. They're not bad. Just a touch pricey for my tastes.
Is 80 Thoreau still open in Concord?
Yes and still good! Just less casual experience.
Rapscallion
Hope their cocktails are better than their rather pedestrian beer.
Their IPA is decent. And the stout. If you’re sensitive to beer quality, stay far away from True West.
I actually liked more beers at True West than Rapscallion, although now that my boys aged out of youth hockey and I don't need to go to the Nashoba (Acton Boxboro) rink anymore, I haven't actually been there since before the pandemic + another year or two before that. Perhaps they have gone downhill since? At the time I thought their IPA was their least appealing beer (and I am an IPA drinker). Oddly I thought their brown ale was very good considering I don't normally like browns all that much. And their Belgian Tripel and Dubbel were both good.
I don't recall them every having much of a "bar" for cocktails, to get back on track with this thread. Just a handful of kind of standards I used to see them make a lot of the same things over and over sitting at the bar.
Beer is undrinkable now. The stout is the only one I can choke down. So strange.
They have good bourbon selection…
Nosh in Concord
Woods Hill Table in Concord
Sichuan Garden in Woburn, hands down

Less than greater than in Hudson is great! Also Labaredas in Marlborough had good cocktails and good Brazilian food.
