If it's in a common area they may have thought/felt it was daddy's and not the tenants?

Be sure to hold onto your lease documents - even sold, you're still a tenant with rights.

Dude this is a fantastic idea, except…there’s no lease 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s a month to month situation. So maybe they had the right to do that? I don’t know. Lesson learned. My boyfriend and I are both mentally ill so this situation to us is anger-inducing but we know that when it comes down to it, it’s really not a big deal. It could be a lot worse. We just really really want to hold this person accountable. Both my landlord and this person act like their shit don’t stink. But whatever. We will be out of here eventually and if we’re not, at least there will be new owners.

We do our best. I’m so thankful for my future in-laws. They’re very helpful financially. I’m on disability and my boyfriend has been a landscaper for 15+ years but he’s unable to function outside our home now due to his mental health as well. I wish we were in a better place but we try to remind each other daily that “this isn’t our forever.”

I love how people offer their opinions when I didn’t ask for a fucking opinion. SSDI isn’t a job; it’s my livelihood. Unless you are living my life, fuck off. Typical Massholes, man.
