Hi yall, I'm going to be visiting Danvers pretty soon and I'm curious what there is to do near said area. Or really anywhere within an hour or 2 of danvers. I'm open to anything, so any idea will be shown do the other people I'm going with. Also, if yall have any good places to eat, that will be appreciated as well. Thanks for any info!

Within an hour or two is all of New England.

If it were me I'd go to Newburyport to walk around and get a meal.

You could go to the PEM (museum in Salem). They have a historic home from China which was disassembled and reassembled.

Go to Woodman's for fried clams. It's famous (and probably should be) for them and only 15 minutes away.

Go to the beach! Pick a warmish day and go see a couple of the best beaches on the North shore. It sucks trying to go in the summer - but you'll get to stroll the beach, beach comb without throngs of people.

Crane beach and driving all the way to the end of Plum island are a couple good spots.

Drive up to Portsmouth and Portland. If you start first thing you can easily do both cities and be back home for supper.

Pretty sure Salem is close to Danvers. It’s a fun area to visit this time of year because people dress up and there’s usually a ton of food vendors and stuff in town. It’s a nice place for shopping, restaurants, and museums.

Not only is Salem close to Danvers, Danvers was Salem Village in 1692. Nearly all of the accused lived in Salem Village. The accusers nearly all lived in Salem Towne (now Salem).

Thanks for the suggestion, though Salem is already on our list so I should have specifies. L

Salem is fun.

Go to Portsmouth, NH though. It’s cool.

So so much! Salem is going to be the obvious choice, especially this time of year. If you want to avoid the crowds, check out downtown Beverly; really awesome restaurant and bar scene(also brewery, 4 taprooms right next to each other) for a small city and super walkable, from the beach, to Cabot, go Rantoul and back. Great city.

You mentioned within an hour so any of the beautiful North Shore cities are in play, Gloucester, Rockport, and Newburyport (personal favorite!) are all super valid options.

Gloucester is about 13 miles from Danvers and has plenty to see and do

You should go to Connors Farm if you want something to do in Danvers. Probably really busy because of Halloween and it’s kinda pricey but they have a lot to do there
