Car inspection for Californian Car

I am a out of state student in UMASS and I brought my car here from California. I need to get my car inspected but my car is registered in California. I cant go drive back just for an inspection. What should I do?

You usually get it inspected in the state you're living in, and your home state should accept that on a yearly basis. But I'm not sure about California in particular. EDIT: They definitely won't make you drive it back if you're really worried about that.

I think if you don't have your car inspected, California won't allow you to renew your registration. But I don't think your current registration is affected by not having yet done the inspection. I am not positive on that, so don't quote me. But if I am correct, then you can still drive your car because your registration will still be valid. Next time you are back in California with it, get it inspected then.

No you can not get your car inspected in MA for CA.

YES you can have the inspection done early, so next year before you come to classes, get the vehicle inspection done.

I am not 100% up on the rules now, (been 5 years)but I doubt an inspection station can put a mass inspection sticker on a vehicle rocking a cali plate.

Good lick. BUT If I was you, for next year before classes start and you leave cali for school. Get the new inspection before you leave for school. It is a good idea anyways before you drive 2400 miles +/- .

Ya, goto rmv and get mass plates. If the vehicle is here more than 6 months it should have a mass plate anyways. Just make sure cali gets their plate back and all fees are up to date. they don't play when you own fee's on a tag.
