Usually local transfer station (fancy word for dump) has a bin for construction debris. Pay by weight, not a bad price. Not sure what the rules are in city limits.

I'm calling them up now, and they're mostly closed. Do you have a referral that you can share with me?

call a trade school with a carpentry shop. they can use it just to cut down and teach kids not to cut fingers off.

Cut it small. Drop in the weekly trash, like when Andy was getting rid of his excavations in Shawshank.

Or a small fire pit if it’s not pressure treated.

James G. Grant Co., Inc. (617) 361-2716 https://maps.app.goo.gl/frQWeroVBBiwfs5u5?g_st=ic $250 minimum, but that’s for up to a ton I believe. It’s as far south as you can possibly get in Boston- it’s basically Milton. But it’s also the only private dump in the entire city (ironically meaning that the public is free to use it, for a price).

Or… chop it all up into 12” sections and toss it bit by bit into your regular trash. That’s how we do it when space is tight. 200 lbs of lumber will only fill like 3-4 heavy contractor style trash bags.

Is it truly unusable? You can try posting it on your local no-buy facebook page and someone might take it off your hands to burn or build a chicken coop

I'll give that a try! You're not the first person who told me that I can donate this away. However, we have this door that's in awful condition. It appears to have some wood veneer "peeling" off. It's like wood covered in a layer of a more pretty wood, and the pretty wood is "peeling" off.

I'd try the no-buy group first and folks might take some of it - I don't know about the door in particular. But if you can get the amount you're trying to get rid of down, it'll be cheaper overall.

You might have some luck with junk removal services or renting a skip for a day.
