Wow, what a brave and insightful post. I was planning to uphold a law that was passed with the support of both the ACLU and law enforcement, which in other states has resulted in safer roads, but maybe I need to reconsider my position in light of this analysis.

The Truth does not mind being questioned. A lie does not like being challenged. You see, the masses rarely get what they want because they live in a world where effort is minimal and pleasure is king.

When you can't attack the information directly, you attack the source, if that fails, you 'create false misleading information' to discredit knowing 'select' 'unaware' followers would not take the time to self-corroborate the claims.

I just want to point out that the way you “questioned the truth” is to say “Watch all the #Karen ‘s get triggered below”. What is this apparently unassailable information that you’ve put out here?

REAL ID was pushed onto states to make them do the job of the US Government and take on the expense of providing Federal Government compliant IDs for the Feds with the threat if they didn't the Feds would withhold funds from states for things like roads and bridges. Massachusetts delayed it for a long time because they rightfully didn't think it should be the state's job to do the federal government's job for them, especially for free.

You mean like all this stop the steal bullshit, none of which is based in any fact whatsoever. It's a shame that snowflake couldn't accept the fact he lost, and had to lie to his followers, and kill a bunch of people while doing it.

Those are facts...

Source for "states began issuing them to people who were not eligible under federal law"? Because I am pretty sure that didn't happen.

The REAL ID thing came out of the federal government and states not having minimum standard for identification right after 9/11 where they felt they needed to protect against fake ID that like most post 9/11 rules had nothing to do with 9/11. Then they forced the states to take on the actual work that really should have been a federal job for their standards. It was a knee jerk reaction to an event when they started looking at all kind of things they decided needed to be better regulated, but in the case of IDs there was not the problem you cites but instead simple a lot of different state IDs with a lot of different things on them that were designed to be used to allow people to drive cars, not as a federal ID.

Look at it this way - undocumented residents who need to drive to work, school, etc. will do so whether they can get licensed or not. If we enable them to get a license, at least some of them will choose the legal option, which will 1) ensure they can pass a driving test (demonstrating basic skills, knowledge of local driving laws, some level of confidence behind the wheel) and 2) enable them to get insurance so if they do get into an accident there will be coverage to protect them and others involved (if they were at fault). Not to mention basic human decency, to allow people who are already here and maybe have been for years to have a legal option to transport themselves and their kids. I don't care if the state makes a few bucks off the licensing fees, it's worth it for the other benefits.
