I'm moving out of my rental house at the end of the month with about half a tank of home heating oil still unused. Does anybody know of any companies that would buy it? Unfortunately the one that I bought it from doesn't buy it back. I'm located in Swansea.

Talk to your fire department. They’ll know the whole process.

Find somebody with a diesel car and make a deal.

If anyone did want to do this they'd want it for 25% of what you paid. Who's going to send out a truck with an employee with the equipment to get diesel from a possibly dirty ass tank?

Your best bet is to talk to the land lord and see if they'll reimburse you some

Too much liability for a company to take it and resell it.

How much was in there when you moved in? Can you just chalk it up to leaving it as you found it; like a rental car?

If you really want to get it out, find some friends and some 5 gallon containers, pump it out and filter it, because unless the tank is new, you won't want whatever is in the bottom of the tank to come out in the fuel. Is there overlap with your new place. In a day you can make a bunch of runs in between your old and new house, lol.

not legally. I think there are some rules that prevents you from reselling the oil
