Essex County area has a ton of options:

Bradley Palmer in Topsfield
Maudsley State Park in Newburyport
Harold Parker State Forest in Andover
The Greenbelt is Essex County's land trust and has a ton of trails and properties. You could spend a whole day just checking out the rail trails, ghost trails and coastal paths around Amesbury, Salisbury and Newburyport.
