Partisan politics is definitely the root cause here.
What Republicans are you talking about? The entire state is run by the Democratic Party.
My husband went through something similar. Talk to your HR dept and see if they approved it on their end and if they’re able to see if you’ve earned enough $$ so far. My husband applied in February for the birth of our daughter in March, but he had just started his new job in January. His previous employer was in Nh so he hadn’t earned enough $$ in MA yet. His employer was able to tell him how much he needed to earn until the state would approve it. He decided to withdraw his application until he made that much and reapplied in July. He successfully took 12 weeks off for family Bonding starting in September and just went back this week. They make it so difficult, but don’t give up!
You’re not very smart are you….
Appeal the denial. If your employer is new to the program they might not have any earnings on file yet.
For new employers in the program they actually instruct you to tell your employees to appeal because it will be denied on first pass.
Also reach out to your HR team. It’s also possible they have a private plan rather going with the state which means the claims process is different. You would have to file claim with insurance company instead of through that state website.
Hi there, HR professional here in MA. That’s literally their job to help you with that eligibility. If you have 5 months of earnings that should be enough to at least qualify for something unless you are only working limited hours.
Yea this is more a case of that government is terrible at running business like enterprises. No matter the party.
Huh? It must be income related because I worked for 1.5months at my current company and got approved for PFML at the maximum amount.. sounds like you need to talk to HR.
I am working fulltime /40hrs per week. I will touch base with HR next week. Hopefully I will get more info
Ummm… I’m a dem, but Charlie Baker approved this and he’s. Republican. So, I’d wtf you’re on about.
Keep pushing
Get proof from your HR and do the appeal ASAP. You only have 5 or 10 days I think to do it or it triggers a whole mess to fix. I think I had to appeal 5 times to get all my maternity leave sorted out and it was a mess. The issues were in large part because I had only been at the company 2 months at the time and hadn't filed a tax return while working there so they had a harder time setting up my account and figuring everything out so I'd suspect that's part of the issue. Appeals take a long time to process but they will retroactively do your benefits once it's resolved. Sorry you're in this mess too! I was back from my maternity leave before I got paid anything.
