Answering the question of what mall Santas do in the off season!...My husband and I cracked up/quoted that commercial so much that one time our 5 year old went, "your favorite commercial is on!!"

What gives you the right to judge Bolduc? You wouldn't make a pimple on a soldier's ass. GFY

I’m making fun of the guy in the commercial! That stick up your ass must be painful!

I live in a border MA city and work in NH. Yesterday in a meeting one of the NH Knuckleheads said she felt like she lived in MA. I laughed so hard. NHKs think all blue voters are people from MA who either moved to NH or voted illegally in NH.

Truth from my experience is that we've definitely sent them more conservatives, they're the ones trying to get away from us.

I think if New England just became 2 States divided by the Connecticut river nobody would notice.

[deleted] t1_ivtu5gp wrote

Actually the opposite happened.

Fascists from MA, ME, VT, RI, and CT all moved to NH because it's easier than moving to, say, Wyoming.

If nobody moved in or out of NH since 1950 then NH would have the same voter demographics as VT today.

I talked to a friend, long-time resident of NH, long-time fiscal conservative, father of two daughters in their 20's. He said he voted for more Dems in this election than ever before. The abortion ruling was the tipping point. He's done with the GOP.

They are, the Senate keeps a democrat seat from NH and LePage was actively running Maine into the ground as its governor.

Lmao dude a popular post on this sub gets like a couple hundred updoots. It's not a particularly fertile field for karma farming.

God forbid someone try to share something they think people want to see.

toxologyreport t1_ivxrllr wrote

You’re reminding people to thank other subs for how they voted, which is extremely lame regardless of the outcome. It’s not exactly sharing info as how you’re suggesting.

I'm not doing any such thing. Not a big fan of literacy and reading in general, are you?

It's not OP's fault nobody loves you.

Nah they voted against power lines that would keep my electric bill from going up 60%.

−14

Essarray OP t1_ivr0v50 wrote

Any reason to believe it wouldn't go up either way?

great_blue_hill t1_ivr2ual wrote

The rates went up because natty gas, which we generate electricity from, went up. Hydro costs haven't changed beyond inflation. https://www.hydroquebec.com/residential/customer-space/rates/comparison-electricity-prices.html

Essarray OP t1_ivr4rfh wrote

So you don't think costs go up because companies make more money that way?

great_blue_hill t1_ivr7ag7 wrote

Sounds like an Elizabeth Warren talking point.

Nope. Just common sense: the more you charge the more you make. If you have a product that people need to survive they'll pay almost whatever you tell them.

[deleted] t1_ivubafj wrote

Why would this occur in any given period of time versus any previous period of time? That's kind of the question at play.

Essarray OP t1_ivudegp wrote

Tantrums when corporations don't get their way? Fewer obstacles to discourage it? I'm not seeing anything that says 'necessity.'

1

[deleted] t1_ivwseym wrote

Fewer obstacles to discourage what exactly? When the purchasing power of the dollar decreases against pretty much every good in our economy, your explanation is that there is some kind of angry tantrum on the part of many companies leading to punitive price increase?

1

Essarray OP t1_ivwzlhj wrote

Price gouging.

We're talking about oil companies, right? They don't seem to be hurting. So yes, that is my accusation. But go ahead and keep defending the poor innocent bastards.

great_blue_hill t1_ivsyefx wrote

Cool so dumb lib talking point. There are sanctions on Russian energy exports if you haven’t noticed yet.

−1

Essarray OP t1_ivsyxtu wrote

Yes, there's a reason for that you might be aware of.

Here's another lib talking point (acknowledging them doesn't refute them): prices have gone up and the companies are bragging about record profits. Ultrasimplistic? Yes. Realistic? Completely.

3

great_blue_hill t1_ivt14o1 wrote

Corporate profits are almost always at a record high just like the size of the economy is almost always at a record high just like employee compensation is almost always at a record high. It’s called “economic growth.”
