Mail carrier here, used to be when I ran into one of these I used to give them a wack with the scanner to clear them off. Would open the frozen ones too. Now the new touch screen scanners are too small and less durable, can't to that any more and that gets real old real fast.

I had a small rubber hammer that was perfect it disappeared one stretch of warm weather…I have to remember to get a new one at some point. New scanners do suck😂
