Do you know how/where we can report the staff shortages? From a recent NYTimes article, it seems like a deliberate move by headquarters to increase profits.

I’m grasping at straws but is there a state/federal agency that oversees this?

CVS and Walgreens have consistently been cutting help while increasing workload for the twenty years I have been in the retail pharmacy world. It was good in the early 2000s but has been going downhill since late 2000s and I absolute free fall since mid-2010s. Not a new issue at all. And no one gives a fuck. And customers want Saks service and Walmart prices.

Best bet is small wealthy towns. They are always staffed better than other locations.

I don’t think we customers noticed the issues u til this year.

We practically can't - I have CVSes all around me, a Walgreens a few miles away, or I can go mail-order from CVS.

There aren't any independent pharmacies around me. And this is true for most of America.

Express scripts isn’t covered by my health insurance company and as I mentioned earlier, my mail order can only be through CVS.

We also just cannot hire people especially the last 2 years. A lot of our pharmacies are hiring rn, and we can't find people and there tends to be high staff turnover, granted at 16 dollars an hour, the salary is not super enticing, when many places start higher.

If you know how CVS works, for our techs, we are supposed to follow a "WeCare model", where techs spend time ringing as well as filling, instead of doing one or the other their entire shift, usually the longer you've worked with the company, the more time you spend filling prescriptions, with new techs ringing all day.

Pharmacies that follow that "wecare model" tend to have lower turnover, because trust me our pharmacies don't slow down, and it's not fun to ring all day.

You could report it to the boards of pharmacy but doubtful they would do anything.
