I'm going with some friends to natick tomorrow and I was wondering how hard it is I've had my license for over 6 months now and was wondering how bad it would be I am avoiding rush hour getting there at 10 am and leaving at 2. Just curious how hard it is driving in a bigger city and any tips for driving in them

Natick is a small community-a town, not a big city.

You will have no problem

Unless you’re going to Natick Mall…that can be a pretty big pain in the ass. It’s not difficult like driving in Boston is difficult, but it can be confusing. Reminds me of an airport.

Where are you coming from? Natick is a medium sized town and not scary at all for driving in. You also have rt9 and the mass pike to choose from so you have options. Im guessing youre asking about how bad rush hour traffic would be on the pike? Rush hour usually ends around 8:30 am and starts around 4:00pm. Depending on where youre coming from you can go 495-90 or 95-90 and 495 or 95 to rt9.

I live around the Fitchburg area it's the most busy place I've driven in

Oh ok, youll be completely fine. Fitchburg is a larger town than natick and its downtown is much larger and more dense. What part of natick are you going to, the mall I would assume? Natick has a small downtown and is more spread out if thats where youre going its not bad at all. If youre going to the mall its not near downtown and instead is across the lake and essentially in framingham. If youre going there its literally right next to rt9. You can avoid the pike entirely and just go 495 to rt9 and then the mall will be on your left.

Why would someone downvote you? People on this Reddit are so weird.

Do you use google maps (on your cell phone)? You can enter your destination and it will guide you through every turn and, if important, lane choice. It’s very helpful in places less familiar.

Traffic has been super light this week due to lots of people taking time off from work between Xmas and New Years, especially those who have to use up time off or lose it. My commute has been a dream this week, so today in Natick is likely to be pretty easy.

Learn to drive. Read a book about driving theory. Watch youtube. If you can't drive to Natick, you shouldn't really be on the road. It's not too bad, just go slow. You CAN get into an accident on Rt 9 as it is kind of fast and tight.

Easy peasy: unclear to me why you would have any problem
