It's so fun seeing all the franklin/hampshire county ones that still stand 99 years later.

Love it! My town still uses the same building (though they've renovated inside).

Love it. I would genuinely pay for an original if anyone knows of one out there.

New Bedford's downtown library is still the same. It's just weird seeing it from that angle as you don't enter from the front any more (haven't since at least before I was born) and you'd have to be standing on the diagonally facing corner (which isn't a great place to stand because of foot traffic). But the building is still there and I love seeing it. Especially this time of year with Christmas decor and the big tree 😁

The Conway one is still in use. It’s the Field Memorial Library, given to the town in honor of the donor’s parents. The donor was Marshal Field, founder of the famous Chicago department store.Marshal Field was born in Conway, MA.

Agreed, that libraries are remaking themselves for modern times and have not relegated themselves to being obsolete with just books anymore.

A month or two ago I borrowed my libraries telescope (although the seeing was terrible that week so I ended up returning it unused but will try again) and right now I am burrowing a Kindle reader to see if I might want to get one of my own which of course leads into these libraries also subscribing to Overdrive where you can check out eBooks. Also don't forget to check out the audio CD section for great box sets if you ever wanted to check out a famous artist you might only be somewhat familiar with (e.g. Chuck Berry).

Nice! I wish there was an article/story to go with it explaining how many we have today! And how many belong under the conservatorship of "The Friends Of" historical preservation nonprofit organization

Map still has Dana, Enfield, Greenwich, and Prescott before they were flooded to make the Quabbin Reservoir
