My guess is that she was the one leaving him after the fraud case. He likely did not want that/couldn't deal.

Horrible thing all around, and hopefully the kids will be well cared for moving forward by grandparents/extended family.

Most women who are killed by current/former partners are in the process of trying to leave. I hope those kids end up somewhere safe too.

It breaks my heart that if she could have gotten through to sentencing, she would be in the clear.

Well, it breaks my heart, full stop, but she was so close to being free of him.
