Hi everyone, looking for recommendations on an ocean front restaurant for my wife’s birthday. North Shore, South Shore or even the Cape is fair game. It’ll be a late lunch/early dinner kind of thing.

Tried looking up in Google, but nothing beats recommendations from locals.

Casual, but the view is unbelievable. If you sit by the window, it feels like you are on a boat. Back in the day they didn't accept credit cards, and I'm not sure about the winter hours, so call and check first. Kind of romantic in the evening.

A little pricier/fancy, and nicer atmosphere. It depends on your taste. Again, check regarding winter hours.

Both places are right on the water, request a table in front of a window.

They both look good. Barnacle may be on the casual side, but definitely looks worth a visit.

It's nice. You can wear jeans if you want :)

Depending on the weather, there is a park you can walk to, take a right when you go out the door of the restaurant (Barnacle).

For a late lunch, you may be able to catch the lunch menu and afford a nice bottle of wine.

Lots of options in Plymouth definitely based on a Google search . I’m not familiar with the restaurants there. Any particular you’d recommend?

East Bay Grille is good food and nice atmosphere. Right along the water.

Mission Beach House in Revere or Mission on the Bay in Swampscott. Good views. I liked the menu in Swampscott a bit pricy but if you are willing to spend not bad. The one in Revere is on like the 3rd or 4th floor so your view is not disrupted by people walking by since it’s not right on the beach.

Chatham Bars Inn or Ocean House on the Cape are amazing. Call ahead to make sure they’re open.

https://wequassett.com/ or just down the street from the Chatham Bars is the Wequassett - maybe the best views and food of the two Inn's - But perhaps spend two night's and maybe go to both :)

Once they open back up for the season, the Bayside in Westport. Small, family owned restaraunt that's like a block off east beach. You have a beautiful view of the marshland that expands out towards the ocean

If you want to bounce a little higher look into Castle Hill in Newport. Legendary views, amazing prix fixe menu. I think six course is around $140pp? Wine pairings isn't cheap.

Summer when the lawn is open is much cheaper for a quick lunch.
