This is your daily motivation to hit the gym

Well i am quite the opposite. Started working out during Covid, dropped 10 kg, got not this muscular, but quite nice body. And my girl says it's gross i have raised veins on arms and that abs are a red flag and stuff like that. So I am finally happy with my body and found a new hobby, but i look worse to her (nothing serious, we are getting married this year, but it hurts).

You can't argue with people's taste. But you should do what makes you feel good about yourself if you don't like how you look.

AcesofAthens t1_jackr4q wrote

I'd stop working out as much then. She's not attracted to it, and it's hard to be with someone you're not attracted to physically. Make her happy by doing less.

We have an agreement that I won't be following some strict diet, which is almost obligatory if you want to have abs. So we have this kind of status quo that as long as I only workout and not try to look all ripped and bodybuilder like, it's fine.

CrowHunterv2 t1_jaclb48 wrote

When she says your abs are a red flag I think she's the one who's a red flag

Nah. She is a great person and i am looking forward to marry her. It's just she preffers a dad body over muscular physique. And although she liked me better before, she is fine with my current form. Nobody's perfect.

I love the fact that op responds to every comment, real commitment. God I hate this awful state when you think the person you like won't like you back.

good_cop_tenpenny OP t1_jaajq3p wrote

It's terrible tbh. I like before I got with my boyfriend I was like, "there's no way" and he was like, "oh, really?"

OkloZet t1_jaak70l wrote

Oh shit are you actually dating your crush? All my relationships were with people I met like, you know on social media then something sparked. But dating your crush, damn that's impressive. Also, you a man or a woman?

good_cop_tenpenny OP t1_jaalr3x wrote

I'm a woman. See, a lot of people who comment on this post have this misconception that this meme is about me, but the reality is I saw funny frog drawings on Facebook and was like, "this is meme material" lol

Sophia724 t1_jaal3l5 wrote

Not gonna lie, I like to cuddle with a squishmallow that looks kinda like the left frog. Trust me, OP. People will love you for the way you are.

I'm more the like that frog in Dat Boi meme. Long and skinny

The person I find attractive is into people whom they find attractive, that's not fair!

I wonder what the crush's body type is like?

2

good_cop_tenpenny OP t1_ja9r6tb wrote

I think it's time I admit that my initial response was immature, but I should probably instead take the rational response, point out that I have a boyfriend and that this is just a meme.

As someone who attained that kind of physique later on in life through a lot of hard work, it's odd that you won't be able to show off your progress without coming off like a total douchebag. Especially abs. Not a reason to stay out of shape, but something to keep in mind. I find it's best to lean into it and enjoy that it annoys people, they're going to hate on you anyway.

good_cop_tenpenny OP t1_jaanx2k wrote

Honestly people like encourage people to get in shape and then get mad at them for being in shape. It's the weirdest thing.

I don't know if you read the rest of the comments underneath this post, but

  1. I have a boyfriend.

  2. It's just a meme. There's nothing more to it. It's just meant to be funny. Don't look too hard into it.

  3. Wow, you were really mean about this.
