There is no such thing as a future defining exam. Unless you’re tryna be a doctor. In which case, good luck with that 250k worth of debt. That exam was not what defines your future.

I just took the SAT a few days ago. In my opinion its not that bad if you take a few practice tests. Just don't waste your time on questions that stump you and move on.
