I thought they do that to cut down on buying so many materials that take up so much space. Is it really that much of an issue?

So drawing on a tablet isn't art now? I've seen beautiful drawings made on tablets. Art is art. No matter how or where you're doing it.

no, i think its mostly because they don't actually have any sort of experience with how to distribute colors, witch specific color to use and when ect. and just make stuff that people find mildly visually appealing instead.

isnt that the point of art, though? to portray something in a subjectively appealing way? it doesn't have to be a science, albeit color theory is definitely interesting. art is art, people can make what they please

Have you ever drawn on a tablet before? If you can draw on paper you can draw on a tablet and vice versa. The biggest difference is that a tablet is faster and smoother because you have all colors and erasing won't ruin everything like it so easily can on traditional art
