All songs start off from being improvised at one point. It's not like you plan it ahead and then use mathematics or science or whatever to construct it. No, you jam it out and at some point there is a song (or, like with Paul McCartney's "Yesterday", you dream of a melody at night).

Well the thing here is, off the cuff, a brilliant song that would recorded formally later. Improvised instruments, lyrics, and melody.
