I thought I heard the Old Man say "Leave her, Johnny, leave her" 🎶

Me sailing The Jackdaw towards a level 60 Man o' War to shoot the crap out of it.

Yes lol.

But actually with a maxed out Jackdaw you really don't have to. It's actually too easy. I wish the legendary ships respawned, I had fun fighting those.

Steven Crowder, he sets up booths like this to debate with people, usually people get heated when he just wants to have a civil discussion

I agree with some of what he has to say but he's definitely trying to start shit and act smug when the sjw types inevitably show up and get angry.

Eh I'd do the same, it's funny to fuck with em

Yes except crowder is actually a shithead climate change "sceptic" (see: denier)

It depends on the context, if he said something about us just not having the technology to be carbon neutral and similar points to that then lol ye obviously, good luck trying to tell a poor uneducated farmer to not burn down the amazon or big business and politicians that it's their fault we're in this situation and not the average dude. But if he actually said something about climate change not being real then yeaaaah dumb opinion. I do agree with a lot of his opinions though, specifically on guns (I'm not even American lol) and the more "woke" crap. Am I gonna get downvoted to hell for this? Probably, but at least I've explained myself

Dapper_Composer2 t1_iy9p992 wrote

No, by denier I mean he quoted a shit study that said a small part of Antarctica hat more ice that year, and used it to say that applied to all the ice sheets in the world. Dude knows what he's doing, too. He's a shithead. I also believe freedoms, especially those of the uncomfortable kind, ie abortions and firearms should be preserved. Just saying, the guy isn't exactly innocent, and definitely is a shithead.

If you are referring to pop music, then we could say the same thing about scratching chalkboards.

With hundreds of thousands songs released, how many have you actually listened to? Maybe 2%....which would be a masterclass of listening.

So really, in your opinion sea shanties are better than 80% of the music YOU have made the effort to hear.

Hahaha.

That said...I do enjoy a good shanty.

They are. Irish music is also far better. Something about adding in a fiddle or bag pipes and being great at playing them

Merrikbear t1_iyb210l wrote

As an Irish person, considering how many of our songs are about lovers committing suicide or "THE FUCKING BRITS!!! >:(" I've had enough of our traditional music lyrics, but the songs themselves are great.

Pretty sure sea shanties aren't back yet. If I remember the order, gregorian chants have to get trendy first.

Given that most music released recently are people uploading to soundcloud that only gets 10 views, then yeah, anything remotely popular is probably better than most songs uploaded.
