I fucking hate the post humor era, it took what was funny in the era before and made it unfunny, and it's also repetitive every meme I see is the same.

Personally I'd say the MLG era lasted well into late 2016 maybe even 2017. Though there was definitely a little overlap with the surreal era at some point, so I guess it's subjective as to when exactly you pin down the definitive 'end' of an era

I'd cut it down the middle and say 2016 then. That makes the most sense to me, with 2016 being like the best year. It was slowly downhill from there, then after the surreal era it really started falling off

Tbh in my opinion internet humour was always obnoxious, it's just that now instead of being bombarded with many different memes, you get bombarded with the same lightskin and Ohio memes all the time.

Bro rage comics and advice animals were on their prime up until 2012, and I believe YTP didn’t start being popular until 2010

I think part of whats fun about old internet humor is the way it could be remixed. You'd never see the same meme exact meme twice, they could always be applied to different situations and express different ideas. It's sort of like an internet specific language.

This is just repeating the same phrase over and over again.

Yea it's like when a movie character makes a joke and a bunch of toddlers in the cinema try to build on top of this joke while annoying everyone.

The humor during post-irony was mainly reverse humor. What is the current thing, reverse-reverse humor?
