I don’t blame ya, hope they put the screws to Norfolk Southern for committing borderline domestic terrorism on your backyard.

Were they the ones who decided to burn all the chemicals? If no, they have no blame.

Adding context because it apparently wasn't clear enough: +If yes, they do have blame.

Well, first off they were the ones that chose to do it that way with the government’s permission. Second, it is intellectually lazy and irresponsible to say the corporation that mishandled hazardous materials shouldn’t bear the cost of fixing their mistake for any reason. They broke something, it’s their responsibility to fix it, that shouldn’t even be in question.

Downvotes for asking a question lol.

Are they not cleaning it up? Are they not making it right? Are they actively avoiding responsibility? Is anyone saying that they shouldn't bear the costs of fixing things?

I would be baffled to learn that they are not already in the process of rehabilitating the community / ecosystem. I'd bet enormous sums of money that they started cleanup and mitigation efforts immediately following the derailment.

Are you being paid to run defense for corporations or is this just a hobby of yours? Just asking questions!

I need to know the answer to my question first, I don’t accept solicitations. Are you being paid to do this or do you just lick boots for fun? If slobbering on that juicy boot is what helps ya shoot your goo, more power to ya, I just want to stand outside the blast radius if ya know what I mean?

I don’t know who made the call to burn it tbh. But don’t be mistaken by the blame game, they are not helping anyone. It hurts the bottom line.

They wanted to pay the town with a 25k check and call it a day. Now that it got National attention, with federal agencies involved and all it’s our tax dollars paying to fix a corporation’s greed induced accident.
