As funny as this joke is the price of eggs has been coming down substantially.

They’ll likely ebb And flow price wise till summers here. The reason is partly because of a really bad bird flu outbreak, feed shortages due to war and climate and also cuz of the time of year. Chickens lay less eggs when it gets cold out- not because it’s cold out but because there’s less daylight for less time than in the summer. You can get around this with daylight simulation bulbs (day bulbs) but then you wear out the chicken faster (they are the way they are for a reason). As the days get longer and bird flu numbers get better (like what’s happening slowly now) the prices will get better. I do doubt they’ll go back to their “regular” price we are use to seeing tho. Then again I’ve no idea what eggs cost, I’ve had chickens for the last 7ish years and haven’t bought eggs in that amount of time

It's remarkably common to find multiple double-yolked eggs packed together. In fact many retailers stock cartons of them.

This is frequently posted as interesting but really, it's not.

Going to be seeing a lot of double yolks in the near future. They most often come from new layers, and with the outbreak of bird flu, many flocks had to be destroyed and replaced.

There’s a breed of chickens that are more likely to give double yolks. I can’t for the life of me remember their name, my mother In law had some. The eggs were always a little bigger than a extra large white egg and where brown with little speckles on them (usually). It was more likely to get a single yolk than a double with them
