I could ignore for sure, but I like explaining stuff, ignore this if u want. Some teenagers will try to look smart and cool by separating themselves from younger kids and will for that reason say “as a kid…” when bringing up a past event. Another reason is that most teenagers will say they aren’t kids so they can feel more independent and free which is completely natural.
