Fun fact: These actually aren't the highly sought after "shamrock" clovers that are thought to bring good luck! True shamrocks have a slight indentation at the top of each leaf in the middle and are usually rather small. The plants featured here are most likely a species of Oxalis!

A four or more leaf clover is a genetic mutation so they grow in patches together, because the mutation gets passed on and spread

I had wondered whether each individual constituted a plant, or if the "bunch" was essentially one plant. Genetics makes sense.
