OP probably tared the empty cylinder. There's no way an empty soda stream bottle weighs less than a pound, much less one filled with CO2 - they hold about 14 oz of CO2, or roughly 400g.

I sometimes buy a few of these at a time and have noticed that they have very inconsistent weights when measured against each other. It’s so annoying! How much is actually supposed to be in these damn things?
