Based on my perusing of r/homestead, your chicken may have a calcium deficiency (although there are other causes).

Yeah I figured a much. I got given a cheap bag of feed and they stopped laying then one of them pooped this thing out in the middle of the path. I got the message and went out and bought a bag of their normal feed today.

We just put our egg shells back in the coop and that helps. Natural recycling I guess.

lack of calcium in its diet. Never seen an egg with a tail though.
