I think it was one of those ‘Friday afternoon’ rainbow jobs….

Either that, or the budget didn’t include any ‘luxuries’ like pots of gold. 🤑

Think the pot of gold is the fact you're not stuck in miles of traffic. Whenever there's news of a jam it's almost guaranteed its around that junction.

Hmmm.. lucky indeed. We are on our way up to Scotland today.

Not very nice to say about Lancaster.

A valid comment, but I think Lancaster is radiant enough, without the lure of pots of gold.

Actually, a few minutes earlier we were passing the Forton Services with its iconic tower. I’ve always loved this place. It would have made a great picture, had the rainbow appeared here.

That's where I always stop, in the hope that one day I will be able to have a futuristic, space-age meal (service station chips) at the top of the tower.

Yes, it’s an interesting place. There is even a website which gives the history of the Forton Services.

I believe it was the inadequate fire escapes though, which caused the tower restaurant to close down.

Stupid health and safety! I would take my chances. We call it "the UFO station".

I heard they would demolish it but it's too close to the motorway to make that possible.

They better not touch it!

Not that it would guarantee its survival, but I understand the tower was granted Grade 2 listing in 2012.
